BRIEF: Create and produce an original, persuasive and behaviour changing strategy addressing the issue of sustainability in graphic design.
This book has been created in response to the RSA Design Directions brief entitled 'Elegant Frugality'. The design requires that it is published on a limited run in individual chapters to reduce the environmental impact of its production.
The intention is to inspire and provoke sustainable design practice by sharing the thoughts of designers at the forefront of enviromental thinking. Once the reader has digested chapter's content they are encoraged to exchange their copy with a friend or colleague for a different chapter (Theory, Materials, Production or Identity), this will minimise the number of copies needed to be produced while maximising readership. The aim is that designers can exchange ideas at this point of contact.
